We Are Alive, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded October 12, 1998 by our friend Douglas Bell (deceased 11/05/99), with Del Weber and Fran Mendez as charter members. Our Mission and Our Services
WeAreAlive™ is dedicated to assisting persons with terminal illnesses and severe chronic illnesses that are ongoing serious disabilities, regardless of the illness. To accomplish this goal WeAreAlive™ provides limited various services to individuals in the areas of; assistance for medical co-pays, living expenses, referrals to other resources & educational programs, etc. From time to time, WeAreAlive™ produces seminars and events such as the Alive - Health & Drug Fair™, designed to bring recipients, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, medical providers, etc. together to interact. SUPPORTERS:
WeAreAlive™ supporters consist of volunteers, celebrities, artists, individual donors, group donors, corporate donors, other charities, foundations, grantors and event sponsors.
FUNDRAISERS:
WeAreAlive™ fundraisers are of a variety, such as; silent auctions, live auctions, celebrity dinners, shows, telethons, outdoor festivals, mail outs, garage sales, promotional sales, fashion shows, commercials, grant writing, beverage sales at events, co-participation with other organization's events, online charity sales on this website, etc.

How You Can Help WeAreAlive™! |
Our Assistance Program
WeAreAlive™ provides various services to individuals in the areas of; limited assistance for medical co-pays, living expenses, referrals to other resources & educational programs, etc. WeAreAlive™ is unique in the aspect that it works with its recipients through their existing social workers from other agencies, whether governmental, charitable or private agencies. WeAreAlive™ attempts to provide assistance for needs that other agencies do not provide or have the funds to provide. WeAreAlive™ is, so to speak, an umbrella agency over other agencies. If a recipient does not have a social worker WeAreAlive™ will assist in finding one. If a social worker can not be found, then WeAreAlive™ will handle the case through a physician's referral letter. | AREAS OF ASSISTANCE
BASIS FOR AREAS OF ASSISTANCE: WeAreAlive™ does not receive any government funds. The areas of assistance (by cities, counties & states) depends on various factors, such as; where fundraisers are held and where contributors are from and where funds are designated to be used. Since the volunteers for WeAreAlive™ are all from the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas area, that is where the mainstream of fundraisers are held and where known contacts for contributors reside.
AREAS WHERE ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE: Currently funds are only available for the San Antonio Metropolitan Area (Bexar County & the smaller cities/areas of neighboring counties).
FUTURE OUTLOOK: It has been the goal of WeAreAlive™ to provide assistance on a national level and hopefully WeAreAlive™ will be able to do so again. Unfortunately there has never been offers from volunteers outside of the San Antonio, Texas area to conduct fundraisers for their areas and contributions on a national level have not been received since 2001.
